Geocities, once a rather popular free hosting site, is closing down forever. It had been around for 15 years, and purchased by Yahoo a few years ago.
I’m blogging about this because…oh, sweet memories…Geocities was my FIRST webpage EVER. Yeah, I’ve been doing this webpage-making-thing for 15 years.
My page was located at http://www.geocities.com/soho/7345/. I’m not linking it because it doesn’t work, obviously. Ah, those were the good ol’ days. I think one of my first pages had about 15,000 blinking/scrolling/bizarre Javascripts running on it, complete with jazzy MIDI files in the background.
