I couldn't agree more with this, Adam! Eye contact is so intimate and powerful! I remember the first time you hugged me - a real hug - it was quite memorable...

yah the pressures to get married can be like the pressures to buy your first house (in australia at least) or to do anything else that means you're "progressing" in life. i really hate it! we should try to be immune to those societal and cultural pressures and do what we feel is right and in line with our personal goals. on a personal and maybe superficial note, i'm afraid of marriage cos you could start to become a boring person! i've been trapped in a few conversations with young married couples regarding knife sets and mortgage brokers and it was just suicidal.

the ultimatum issue is tricky - while i can understand both sides, think you're right that ultimatums are just not the best way to deal with a situation. no one likes to be given an ultimatum, it feels disrespectful, or something - i can't find the right word :)

aha i see what you're saying. your selection can be refined and strengthened by experiment. but the analogy doesnt work for me as well. i grew up eating one cuisine, and when i started to try new foods, eg pizza at 6th grade camp, the more i wanted to try different and new foods. it's like travelling, addictive. but with relationships, you more or less know what you want after 1 or 2 relationships. no more sampling is needed unless you havent sorted yourself out.

Randomly ended up here, started reading, etc.

The major difference between Social Security and general Ponzi Schemes is that the former has a team of actuaries who crunch the numbers to ensure that even if the system doesn't change at all, and even if the most pessimistic of estimates WRT US income levels occurs, that there will still be enough money to pay a 75% levels at 2042, and before then, 100% payout (those were numbers from last year).

Read, learn, and become informed.

Safety razors! Great choice! Let me know how it goes. I've been thinking about doing the same. How do you plan on disposing of the used blades?

Yay! you're thinking like an artist/musician and hit the nail right on the head. Music is a living thing and just because it was written long ago or yesterday doesn't mean it can't be interpreted in a fresh and amazing way today.

That's why live music is so thrilling because art is being created right in front of you. It will never be performed exactly the same way and it's new at that moment. Nice Note Adam. :)
